Instruction Para, 8 hrs: To assist with program supervision and instruction for the Transition Program at LPSDO under the supervision of the teacher. Will assist with high school students in math, science, social studies, and language arts. May provide supervision during drop off and pick up and within the building while the program is in session and other duties as assigned. Must possess good communication skills, content knowledge, organizational skills, math and computer skills, and the ability to meet the individual needs of the students assigned to the program. 2007-2008 Salary $10.68/hr. 2008-2009 salary per negotiated agreement. DISTRICT OFFICE: SPECIAL EDUCATION:
MH:Severe/VOICE Para, 6.5 hrs: TWO POSITIONS AVAILABLE. This person will work primarily with students 18-21 year olds in the VOICE program. Duties include assisting with instruction in a self-contained setting, community settings in the area of functional academics, independent living skills, and vocational skills. Must be flexible, dependable, reliable, willing to work in a team setting, and relate well to individuals with disabilities. 2007-2008 Salary $11.57/hr. 2008-2009 salary per negotiated agreement. BRYAN COMMUNITY:
Student Child Learning Center Para, 5 hrs/day: Must meet requirements of State Rule 11, which states at least 12 semester credit hours in early childhood/child development or the equivalent in prior training or experience. Associate Degree in Early Child Development preferred. A candidate who does not meet these requirements may be considered. At time of hire, a condition of employment is to complete 6 hours via training or experience during the first year of employment; the other 6 hours must be met by the end of the 2nd year of employment. Must be 19 years of age and meet State of NE licensing requirements including being CPR certified and hold a First Aid Certificate (or be willing to obtain and maintain). The para will work under the direction of the teacher to implement the curriculum to provide a developmentally stimulating environment for children birth to 3 years of age. Job will involve working in the high school Student/Child Learning Center. LUX MIDDLE SCHOOL:
OI/1:1, 6.75 hrs: The person filling this position must be willing to collaborate with teams of teachers in grades 6 through 8 serving students with a variety of disabilities including orthopedic impairments and mild to moderate disabilities. Duties include providing support in general education and resource instructional settings, lunchroom lifting, changing and other personal care. 2007-2008 Salary $11.57/hr. 2008-2009 salary per negotiated agreement. SCOTT MIDDLE SCHOOL:
Secured Entrance Monitor, 7 hrs: Monitor students and visitors entering and exiting the building along with other duties pertaining to secured entry (such as documentation). Additional duties will involve data entry and record keeping for building programs. Must be professional, flexible and a team player. 2007-08 Salary $9.50/hr. 2008-09 salary per negotiated agreement. Miscellaneous Information about Paraeducator Positions:
Lincoln Public Schools is continuously taking applications for paraeducators and substitute paraeducators. The responsibilities entail a variety of duties including classroom and lunchroom supervision; assisting teachers with materials and activities; aiding a student with special needs - learning and behavioral needs, as well as mental and physical challenges. Hours range from 2 to 7 hours/day. Paraeducator salary range is $9.23 to $11.25/hr. Substitute Paraeducator salary range is $7.90 to $10.00/hr.

Service Technician III, 8 hrs/day: This position is responsible for the general service and maintenance of all vehicles and equipment owned by the Lincoln Public Schools. Position requires a H.S. diploma, vocational school, and/or five years experience in the service, diagnosis and repair of vehicles, specifically school buses. Candidate will be required to repair electrical problems, hydraulic lift systems, and minor bodywork and glass replacement. Position requires the ability to perform major engine overhauls. Applicant's driving history needs to conform to District standards. The individual needs to possess a Nebraska driver's license, commercial operator’s license, and a class "B" or better with a "P" endorsement.
